I purchased a two stage Jandy pool pump, but i’m not sure i’m wiring it correctly. Can i get some confirmation that this is correct: Red (low) to A, Blue (common/white) to L2, Black (high) to L1, and green to ground. Also, my motor already had a white wire connected to L2, running into the motor; is that okay? Thanks.
Hello PDinkel - Unfortunately it’s not always universal when it comes to what color wire is used on each terminal. Could you send us a picture of the terminal at the back of the motor as well as the timer/control terminal from which the wires are already connected?
Thanks for the quick response. My pump is connected to a Jandy control panel, so it gets a bit confusing (at least to me). I’m attaching pictures of the panel diagram, panel wiring, old motor wiring and new motor wiring. Thanks!
Pat
PDinkel - Could you send us a picture of the new motor label? I pulled up your order and it appears you ordered a single speed pump model SHPM25. Is this what you are installing?
If I ordered a single speed it was by mistake. I meant to order a two speed motor.
PDinkel - Send us a picture of the motor label and I’ll let you know if you ordered the wrong pump.
I thought the SHPM2.5 was two stage. I’ll attach the motor label.
PDinkel - That is a single speed motor. If you need to make a return, contact our customer service at 877-372-6038.
The dual speed pump is Jandy Model SHPM252.
Thanks. Can you tell me how to wire it for single speed? And do I have to reprogram the Jandy control panel?
I just was on the phone with Scott from Inyo, who gave me these instructions: connect red to L1, black to L2, don’t connect the blue wire. He didn’t know why the white wire was connected to L2.
PDinkel - Scott was correct on the wiring. Don’t worry about that white wire. That’s just internal wiring for the single speed motor. That needs to remain where it is. Good Luck!
