Variable speed Pump with wifi control

Hi,

Do you have a model of a variable speed pump that i can control remotly (through the internet?)

Thanks

Luis

Hi Luis,

Currently, there are options to control a variable speed pool pump through the internet but this is a feature tied into an automated control system that controls all of your pool equipment, not just the pump. For example, an automated control system would control your lights, pump, heater, spa, etc… Do you currently have an automated control system on your pool? If so then let me know the make and model as there may be an upgrade component available to allow it to connect to the internet.

If you are currently turning your pump on and off through a standard yellow dial timer and want a price to upgrade to an automated control system then I would need to know the following.

  • Is this a pool only or pool and spa combo?
  • How many pieces of equipment would you need to control? (common items to control include… filter pump, lights, air blower for spa and heater)

I have seen a demo of a variable speed motor that is wifi enable and I will check to see if this is in production yet as this may be an option for you. I will be back in touch.

Thank You

Patrick

Thanks a lot Patrick for your reply.   We currently have a simple pump that control with a timer.  The reason why we want to be able to control remotely is because wwe live far and want to be able to check the status of the pump and ensure it is running when we are not there.

We woudl ike to buy a pump and the simplest control solution to probably manage the Pool Pump, a solar heater.

We do hub, light, a hot tub pump and an hot tub air blower, wich we could potentially add but we want to keep our cost lower.

Please help us understand our options

Thanks

Luis

Hi Luis,

I spoke with our motor rep. and the replacement motor that has wifi built in is days away from being launched. The app is a free download (Century VLink) and is available now on the Apple and Google Play stores.  Feel free to download and run in demo mode if you would like to get a feel for the app!

If you want to go with a complete automation system then I would suggest the following the iAqualink Control System which will control up to pieces of pool equipment. This does not include the variable speed pump. I would need the details on your pool to suggest the appropriate pump, please supply the following…

  • Current Pump HP
  • Current Filter Sq. Ft. Size
  • Length of pipe from pump to main drain at bottom of pool (approximate)
  • Length of pipe from pump to skimmer at side of pool (approximate)

If you are interested in the new wifi motor then could you let me know the make, model and HP of your current pump.

Thanks

Patrick
