Has anyone tried/succeeded using a pool pump to pump lake water to make a water feature on a boat dock or run a sprinkler system?

For the sprinkler system a pool pump will not generate enough pressure for the sprinkler heads also the long distances of pipe on a sprinkler system is suited for a very high pressure or jet pump.
As far as the water feature on the boat dock goes, it really depends on how many Gallons Per Minute (GPM) the water feature needs and if the pump can produce the needed amount. I don’t see why this wouldn’t work. I have used a pool pump to drain a swimming pool, basically placed the pool pump on the deck of the pool ran a 5’ piece of flex pipe from the suction port to the pool and used backwash hose on the outlet side of the pump. I did get really good flow coming out the pump. You would need to make sure your pump is self-priming.
