Hey everyone, I have run into trouble and nobody here seems to kno whow this system works.
I have a two speed motor with timers and form what I’m told an old/complicated system. Anyway, last year the pump wouldn’t turn on so I had someone come out and tell me the relay was bad. Turns out it’s a rare relay but it was a two pole so he just switched it to the other pole and it worked…until about 2 weeks ago when it burned up…..literally. I was the one that suggested that fix. He didn’t knwo the system and suggested he just install a single timer and only run the pump on high.
I found the rare relay and had a different person come out to install it and check everything. After installing it, the pump only works on the low speed now. There’s no way to turn the high speed on at all. The relay on the timer clicks but the relay on motor doesn’t and it doesn’t even attempt to start. I called the motor company that I bought it from and they suggested to change both capacitors so I did with no change. He too didn’t undestand the system.
I’m out of ideas and can’t figure it out. Any suggestions? Is it possible that the high speed side is burned up? Could it be the circuit board under the black cover? I looked at it and nothing looked burned but that doesn’t mean much.
Sorry for the ignorance.
