I need a valve for our pool filter model number 518OT92S. I think it has a leak and is bringing the water level down to 2 Ft in a above ground pool. Do I need to put it in the closed position to fill the pool back up with water.

The valve you would require for your filter is this Hayward SP0714T Valve It is not necessary to have the valve in the closed position when filling the pool back up with water.
