I have a Hayward Swim Pure Plus system that is 4 1/2 years old. About 3 weeks ago the salt reading on the panel began to read at a consistent 1000 level below the 3000 tested level both at home and at local pool stores. The cell will produce chlorine if I recalibrate the cell but after a few hours the salt reading drops again on the panel and the cell stops producing chlorine. In each case the answer given at the local pool stores is the same, “Time to replace the cell”. I have a 10k gallon pool running a T-15 cell. Wondering if INYOpools agrees?
Hello Cliff - The average life of a salt cell is around 3-5 years. I would agree with the local pool store. It sounds like it is time to replace the T-15 cell.
