I am on my 4th skimmer basket in 4 years. Maybe that is normal. But basically it gets stuck in the groove. I’ve put vaseline on the edge of the basket but it still doesn’t prevent the problem. The basket has a thin metal bar across the diameter but I am still not able to twist the basket and remove it. I end up ripping the skimmer basket piece by piece and putting in a new one. My new one is in the mail and I’m thinking about sanding or grinding a 1/4" all the way around so that it really can’t get wedged in the groove. I believe leaves get stuck between the edge of the basket and the edge of the groove that it fits in which makes it impossible to remove the basket. Do any others out there have problems with stuck skimmer baskets?
Hello NYMickey - We have only heard of this issue when the wrong basket is being used in the skimmer. Is there a part number on the top or bottom of the skimmer lid?
