I’m replacing the diverter valve. I noticed the old spider seal was gummy as though it originally had been lubricated.
Question is, should the new diverter with the spider seal already in it be lubricated? Can white grease be used if so? Or Armorall? Or car wax?
Hello Data16,
The spider gasket is not normally lubricated, but you can lubricate it. I would recommend Magic Lube O-ring Lubricant 1 Oz. Teflon - 630 or something formulated for pools and spas. I would not recommend Armorall or car wax.
Thank you for your question,
Inyo Alan
Teflon, of course, now why didn’t I think of that? I should be able to find something similar here in Costa
Rica. Thanks.
