should I change my aluminum cover for the submersed pool light while changing pool system from chlorine to salt water system?
Hi James, I would bet that the cover on your light is stainless steel and not aluminum. Stainless steel is the standard material of choice for manufacturers of pool equipment due to the constant contact with water. Nonetheless, you should not need to change anything when converting your pool to a saltwater pool.
If you have a well-established pool (not freshly filled), we recommend testing the salt content of your pool water since there is probably a good amount of salt in the water already.
Let us know how the conversion goes! Most saltwater pool owners love the ease of maintenance and never having to purchase chlorine on a regular basis.
