When we purchased our home a couple of years ago, the pool (13000 gallons in-ground with liner) had an Intex saltwater system that never really kept up with the pool’s requirements. I suspect it is meant for an above ground pool. The labels are worn off but it appears to be a CS7110 based on pictures from the internet. My question is two-fold, is it worth replacing the electrodes and, if not, what saltwater system do you recommend to retrofit. I am in York, South Carolina and use the pool regularly but seldom have more than 4 or 5 people in it at a time.
The Intex salt systems have a hard time keeping up with the chlorine demand on small above ground pools. I’d recommend going with a system like the PureLine Crystal Pure. Model PL7701 will treat up to 20,000 gallons. If you go with a larger system, the salt cell will last longer because the system won’t have to run as much.
