I have a hayward aqua-rite salt system with a T-15 cell that is not producing chlorine.
The cell is about 1.5 summers old (May to Oct). The power and generating lights are illuninated. I have no flashing or warning lights on. I had the water tested and made all the recommened adjustmets. Salt is at 3000 ppm and temp is around 80. The display is also showing that amps and volts are reading with in the acceptaable range.
I cannot find anythng wrong with the system but my water is turning green. Please help!
Thank you for contacting Inyo. Have you cleaned the cell recently?
You’ll want to treat that algae with traditional chlorine shock. The salt system will not generate enough chlorine to kill all the algae. Also, you won’t be able to test to see if the salt system is generating chlorine until the pool is clear.
Thank you for the response. I checked the cell before opening the pool and there was no build-up.
I made all the recommed adjustments and added the traditonal chlorine shock that my local pool store suggested. My pool cleared up for several days but appears to be getting hazy again. Everything seems to be in normal working condition and water is balanced…except for the chlorine. I’m at a loss.
The display still shows the power and generating lights illuminated and the salt is reading accurately. I have no other warning lights or flashing lights on. I’m at a total loss.
