I have taken apart my hayward DE grid filter and have noticed rust stains on the white grids. Obviously there is metal in the water. Do I replace the grids over the winter or will metal out chemicals in spring dissolve the rust stains.The pool is closed for the winter
Electro64 - You won’t need to replace the grids because they have rust stains. Metal control will help. While you have the filter apart, we recommend soaking the grids in a filter cleaner. This will thoroughly clean the grids of any grease, oils and dirt.
