RPMs converted to GPM

I have a Hayward Tristar VS pump with 2 inch plumbing throughout and in-ground, 10,000 gallon, fiberglass pool.  Also have Pentair 60 Triton II sand filter.  Have been trying to find a reasonably simple explanation online but no success so far.  Hope you can help me—and there has to be many other pool owners who would like this information too–with this explanation.  Thanks!

Hello Buddman - There isn’t a simple explanation because there are different variables that determine the gpm of a certain rpm. The total feet of head would need to be calculated in order to find the rpm to gpm ratio.

We would recommend installing a pool flowmeter. This would be the easiest way for you to determine the gpm.

We have a guide titled “How to Install a Flowmeter”.
