What is the replacement t motor for my Hayward A.O. Smith K48M2N111 motor. Can I just unscrew the old motor and screw in the new motor without changing the housing, plumbing, etc? Thanks,Mike.
Hi Mike,
The replacement motor for the Hayward A.O. Smith K48M2N111 motor is the UST1202 2 HP Replacement Motor Yes you would unbolt the old motor and impeller from your pump and then install the new motor on the pump. We have a Video on How to Replace a Pool Pump Motor which will walk you through the process.
Whenever you replace a motor on your pump we suggest a tune up kit, do you know which Hayward pump you have? The most common models this motor fits on is the Super Pump, Super II and Max Flo. Please post your model name back to this thread and we can suggest the appropriate tune up kit.
Thank You
Patrick
I want to buy your variable speed motor: ECM16SQU and I currently have Marathon 5kcr39un6190x with sta-rite pump filter. Will your variable speed pump be an exact fit?
Hi cangm001,
Your Marathon 5kcr39un6190x has a true HP THP of 2.2 and the ECM16SQU has a THP of 1.65 so you would need to go up to the 2.7 Variable Speed Replacement Motor You may want to consider upgrading to a complete 2.4 THP Speck Variable Speed Pump which is about the same price as just the replacement motor. Please note that if you go with the 2.7 variable speed motor then you will only be getting the output of your current 2.2 THP impeller, so if you want to take advantage of the complete 2.7 THP then you would need to upgrade your impeller. To suggest the proper impeller we would need to know the make and model of your StaRite Pump.
Thank You
Patrick
