Replacement motor over-heating

Hi,

Pump: hayward SP3007X10AZ

My Marathon pump motor stopped working. Would just hum when turned on. Old and lots of rust on underside so I decided to replace it. I purchased the PureLine PL1102 from INYO as it was listed as an alternate for my original Marathon.

I swapped out the motor, wired according to included diagram, replaced seals. Motor runs really well, but eventually overheats (case too hot to touch) and shuts off (cool and repeat).

Where would you suggest i start to troubleshoot? I expected this would be a straight-forward swap.

You may have received a defective motor. I would contact our customer service line at 1-877-372-6038. They will be able to help troubleshhot the motor and determine if the motor needs to be replaced. Once a decision to replace has been reached, they will request photos of the motor sent to us so we may proceed with a warranty exchange. Thank you for the question!
