My inground pool is about 13 years old. My filter is the same age. I have replaced the pump, valves etc. Now my issue is that the earth is not staying in my filter. The cartrdige has never been replaced. Could the reason for the earth entering my pool caused by a bad cartridge? If so, I would like to replace. The number on top is DE 2420 C. The cartridge is 24" long. I would replace the entire cartridge and manifolds. Do you have a replacement for this and what are costs associated with this? Please contact me
Hi Goirish23,
You have a Hayward DE2420 Pro Grid Filter and this filter uses 8 DE Grids, yes by far the most common issue for getting DE powder back into the pool is broken or torn grids. You will need this Package of 8 Replacement Grids for the Hayward DE2420 Filter $96.92 We also have a Video on How to Replace DE Grids which you may find helpful. When replacing your DE grids take one grid out and replace with a new grid and so on, sometimes people take out all the grids and throw them on the lawn and then it is like a jigsaw puzzle putting them back together.
Thank You
Patrick
