Replace Pentair Amerlite

Hi,

Looking to replace my old Pentair Amerlite and the transformer PX600. Both are defective and want to go with LED. The inground pool is 30ftx15ft with a center depth of 6ft.

Need the light cord to be at least 100ft or better 150ft plus. The junction box was installed “inside” the pool area and want to remove it to go next to the transformer closer to the pool equipment.

So need to know what would be a cost-effective selection to get this all resolved?

  • PX100 Transformer?

  • What housing and light can I get?

  • Power cable cord

Thank you for any help that can be provided.

Hi Alfred,

Thanks for the info!

My suggestion would be this Hayward Astrolite and then swap out the incandescent bulb that comes with that light fixture with this J&J LED Pool Bulb along with this PX100 Transformer.

The reason I like this option compared to a Hayward Colorlogic or Pentair IntelliBrite is that if the bulb ever goes bad then the bulb can be replaced where on the ColorLogic or Intellibrite the bulb can’t be replaced. This means on the option above your looking at an easy 30-minute bulb change for $250 where on the ColorLogic you are looking at an expensive ($800+) all day labor-intensive light fixture change. I hope this helps!

I see that some housings are 120v and others are 12v… I understand the voltage difference, not sure what the physical differences are.
