We had a lot of rain. I drained the pool partially and turned the pump off. I forgot to put the multiport back to filter, and the timer turned on this morning. The water level fell below the skimmer and I don’t know how long it ran without water. What are my next steps after filling back up?

It is hard to say if you did any damage to the pump, the first thing I would do is physically inspect the pump, somtimes they can run super hot and melt the basket our housing. Once you fire up the pump I would look for the following…
- Any leaks?
- Is the pump running loud?
- Put your hand over one of the return jets, does it seem as powerful as before?
- Does the motor run hotter than normal?
If all of these check out good then it would appear that no damage was done to the pump. If you do have any of these issues then post back to this post and we will let you know the proper course of action.
