In the continuing saga of my pool pump, I’ve now replaced the pump motor, impeller, shaft seal plus o-rings and seal housing, and water is still gushing out. Inspecting it more closely, it seems the water is coming out from outside of the seal housing (see video linked below). I’ve doublechecked all the o-rings and gaskets and lubed them with Magic Lube. I feel like I must be missing something obvious.
Here are pictures of re-assembling the motor, maybe that will help provide a clue. Any help is much appreciated!
Any ideas here or things to try? Getting desperate not having a working pump for over a month. No service providers in my area that support the Jacuzzi Magnum pump either.
Rich, there are only so many things that can cause this sort of leak at your pump. These would include the shaft seal which can easily get compromised if wet, dirtied, or touched too much. You may be able to clean the ceramic sides with rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth. The housing O ring is another potential cause, which as long as new and lubed should be okay. The lock ring which if it does not have any cracks or damage should tighten well, and hairline cracks in any of the plastic housing parts. The majority of the time it is merely a seal or an installation error. There are a few youtube videos out there for replacing a Jacuzzi Magnum pump motor which may give you some more visual tips on this process.
