I have a 1.5hp 1.5 sf Whisper flow pump with 2" piping, square flange, but the pool has approximately 19000 gallons. I want to replace the motor with a variable speed motor. what size should I order?
Hello Bobamat - We’d be glad to assist you. We would recommend the Century 2.7HP model ECM27SQU. This is a slightly stronger motor compared to your 2.25 total HP (1.5HP x 1.5SF).
The ECM27SQU will still be more energy efficient than what you currently have. You can run the motor on the low speed to circulate the water then kick it up to a higher speed to vacuum or backwash.
We would also recommend replacing the seals when you replace the motor. The seal kit is GOKIT32. If you have salt water, we recommend GOKIT32SALT.
