Pump replacement

Hi,

Currently I have a broken Whisperflo 1hp WFE-4. I was recommened the Speck IG284 as a replacement. I would like to know if I can go up to a 1.5HP. I have a Pentair Triton sand filter, 18 x 36 in-ground fiberglass with overflow side pool, side suction. The pump is located about 24ft away from the skimmer. Would you recommend I stick with the 1hp, or move to a 1.5?

Based on your pool set up, yes you could go up to the 1.5 HP pump. Here is the Speck IG284 1.5 HP Whisperflo Pump Replacement. The Speck Pump is nice as the plumbing ports will match up to your Whisperflo meaning no re-plumbing.
