I left my heyward motor/pump on while I went to work yesterday and when I got back home it wasnt pulling in water, was hot and today when I turned it on after 15 minutes it had very little flow. It started out normal and was flowing normal but came to nearly a complete stop. I checked the filters which were clear and the pressure was at 5 psi. I’m really hoping i didnt burn out the motor already considering it’s less than a year old. I guess what I’m asking is do you think that it’s possibly some simple seal or gasket replacement or do I have a bigger problem on my hands.
Hi Joe123,
How does your water look, is it extremely dirty? Sometimes times if your pool is dirty then the flow will drop quite a bit, and you will need to continually clean your filter until the pool is clear. If the pool looks fine then this may be a sign that your motor is bad.
Here is an article we produced on How to Determine the Cause of Low Water Flow which you may find helpful and here are two more articles on the topic.

If you do determine that the motor is bad then please post a photo of your motor label and a photo of your complete pump and we can let you know which motor you need.
Thank You
