I have a Sta-Rite MPRA6E147L pump with a A.O.Smith A100ELL motor - I need to replace the motor - What do you recommend

You would require the USQ1102 1 HP Motor which is a replacement for your Sta-Rite A100ELL. We would also suggest Sta-Rite Dyna Glas Tune Up Kit when replacing your motor.

I have a StaRite Dyna Pro-E 2.5HP pump (model MPEA6YG=207L) for my in-ground pool. I’m guessing that the size was a bit large for my roughly 20,000 gallon pool, My motor just died on this 4 year old unit and I need to replace it and was wondering if I could drop the motor size, If so, what would be a good size to go with - and a recommendation for a replacement please.

Yes that does sound like a bit large of a motor for your size pool. Do you have any other items the pump is powering like spa jets, solar or water features? If not then I would suggest a 2 HP USQ1202 Replacement Motor along with this 2 HP Impeller and a Dyna Pro Shaft Seal.
