Pump Horsepower / Efficiency / etc.

Origianal Specifications: Installed summer 2013, 7th summer

We just spend $5000 on a new 27 mil liner, a new white LED buld, to have our filter sand changed and to purchase a Hayward Sharkvac,

We had to purchase a new cholinator last year and just today I purchased a new PCB board for the system.  A contact on the K1 burned out.

16x32 inground pool, vinyl lined, one diving board, one ladder, on set of steps, 4 ft radious courners

It’s a salt system, driven by a Hayward Pro-logic Plus board and T-15 Cell (new as of 2019)

The filter is Hayward sand with a max flow of 62 gpm

Came with a Hayward superpump system which is 1 hp I believe

Plumbing is ALL 1.5" and there are plenty of street elbows

I’ve replaced three pumps in the 7 years of operations

I want to upgrade to a maybe a 3/4 hp pump in single stage energy efficient version. (I cannot yet see the value in variable dual stage pumps in my system).

The water flows well, really well.  It’s shoots out of the far end outlet.

Could I decrease to a Centrury EE 3/4 hp pump which pulls 4 amp as opposed to the 11 amp pump currently installed.  I tend to run my system 24 hours daily during the summer.

let me know if you need more info
