After filter issues last year, we swapped out cartridge filter for an Intex Sand Filter Model # ECO20110-1, but still had trouble with vacuumimg, so think this filter is undersized for my pool. Now it’s time to replace the Pentair Dynamo 340210 1.5 HP SS Pump with 1.5" lines that came with my Doughboy 16x 28 oval Above Ground pool. I can’t confirm GPM specs for this pump, so I’m strugglng to figure out what replacement equipment is best matched. This pump has been very reliable, so I’m hestiant to switch to a different pump, but I’m also interested in newer, energy efficient options for a new pump & sand filter combo, and possibly a new tablet feeder or salt generator. Suggestions?
My math: 12,665 gallons /8 hr turnover = 26.25 GPM or 10 hr turnover= 21.10 GPM, max intake into my 1.5" pump intake will be 42GPM, so I get an Ideal Flow Rate Range of 21-42 GPM, so think I still need a 1.5 HP pump & a minimum of 50 GPM for filter. Does this seem right? Any help is greatly appreciated.
