My pool pump says it’s a Hi-Flo HP 1.5 SPL, model # C55CXKDE-4854, catalog # EZBN37 but when I look that up here I’m being told it’s a Emerson 1 HP Dual Speed Pool Pump Motor - EZBN37 - I’m very confused about this as it doesn’t look like the Emerson photo but has the same numbers - what’s going on? My pump is ~10 years old to my knowledge (didn’t buy pool or equipment, came with house when I bought it).
Hello Jeanette - The EZBN37 is a 1HP dual speed pump motor. The SPL rating is not the actual HP. Check out our article titled “Why Your Spa Pump’s HP is a Lie”. The article goes into greater detail about HP ratings.
