question about the best piping option for a pressure side booster pump…this will get fed after a 3 way on the line feeding the pool returns. See pics for both options, which one is ideal, with regards to least problems and best flow…

Looks like option 1 is more efficient because it eliminates a 90 degree turn. When dealing with total dynamic head, the less turns the better. Inyo has a video on the subject of pool plumbing efficiency:

Well…I am using sweep 90’s for better flow. The Tee is in essence is a standard 90 with respect to the pool return. Option 1 would cause more resistance to filter pump but less resistance but possibly more back pressure to the booster. Option 2 could potentially allow better flow for the pool filter. It may not even be an issue either way, just curious if anyone has experienced better or worse conditions for this application
