When I remove the skimmer basket the plate that the basket sits in always comes with it. Is this supposed to happen? I am not sure what model but I know it’s a hayward and the bottom of the round skimmer cover reads 1079-C, I don’t know if that is relevant or not. If this is not supposed to happen is there a way I can epoxy or use some other type of bonding agent to get the rectangular piece to stay in place? Thank you. The pool was built in the early 90’s.
