Pool Pump replacement

I have a Jandy Plus HP Pump. The motor went out on it and it is B2848 s/n02213CH. Can I replace it with a B2854 and do I need to also replace the impeller for a different size since a B2848 is a 1 HP motor and has a service factor of 1.65 and the B2854 is a 1.5 HP witha  service factor of 1.10? Thanks

Hello Russ - Yes you can replace the B2848 with the B2854. The impeller would not need to be changed because the total HP of both motors is 1.65. To calculate Total HP you multiply HP x SF.

We would also recommend replacing the shaft seal when you replace the motor. The shaft seal for pumps with a serial number of P08FF0001 and later would use R0479400. Serial numbers prior to that would use R0445500.

I have a Jandy equipped pool with a connecting spa and waterworks system and would like to replace the pumps with a high efficiency low power consumption.  It has the IAqualink RS system with the older circuit board.  What is the best choice to integrate and update?  Will it include cell phone app controls?

Hello JSteven - We’d be glad to assist you. We have a couple variable speed options for Jandy controls. Depending on the current HP, we would recommend the Jandy 1HP VSFHP10 or the Jandy 2HP VSFHP20.

As far as phone controls, we would recommend the IQPUMP01. This is an affordable option for fast set up and control using iAquaLink apps.
