why is my pool pump making a loud screaching sound after I clean out the basket and it restarts, once the basket if filled with water then the screaching stops
It’s not uncommon for the pump to make noise while it is priming. It is clearing all the air out of the system.
I have heard bearings in a motor screech when they are beginning to fail. However, that kind of screeching usually continues after the basket is full of water.
