i am looking to replace a P2R-A5E-124L with a dual speed, what would you recomend?
Hello Chris - We have a drop-in replacement for your Sta-Rite P2RA5E-124L. This means it will require little or no plumbing. The new ports will line up directly with your current lines. The replacement would be Speck EasyFit MXG model IG281-2100M-0DG. This is a 1HP 2-speed pump.

Another option for you would be the Speck EasyFit MXG Variable Speed Pump this pump would be even more energy efficient than the dual speed and is also a drop in replacement for the Sta-Rite P2RA5E-124L.
