My pool is around 16000 gallons. In the past I have ordered a UST1202 replacement motor. Since I live in California, I can no longer order this motor. I talked to a rep at Inyo pools and he told me that part ECM27CU would be a good motor. My question is can I order the 1.65 motor instead? L

The UST1202 has a total HP of 2.2. The replacement motor needs to have a total HP of 2.2 or higher. That is why the ECM27CU was recommended.

You could switch to the ECM16CU (1.65) if you downsize the impeller and possibly the diffuser.
