Pool Light

I have a Hayward SP0580 pool light that stopped working.   Can I replace it with a different light keeping the same niche?  Also, I have the single screw at the top of the light out but I can’t get the light to come out.  Any ideas?  Thank you!!!

Hi Vince,

You can use another one of these Hayward SP0580 Lights in your niche or if you want to go with LED Color Changing then you can go with one of these PureLine PureColors LED Light Fixtures. As far as the light not coming out, when it was installed the should have left 18 inches of cord so you can pull the light up on the deck, if the did not then maybe that is the issue. Here is a Video On How to Replace a Pool Light which may help you out.

Thanks Patrick.  The model I provided was from my paperwork that came from the pool builder.  I was able to remove the light from the niche and get the actual model number.  The actual model number is SPO525LED. They did not leave me any excess wire and the ground wire is connected inside of the niche, underwater.  I thought that was odd.  So what are my replacement options using the correct model number?  I would like to use my existing niche of course and I would like to use a light that has a replaceable LED bulb.  Thanks!!!

Hi Vince,

Thanks for the information that is very helpful. You can still use the PureLine PureColors LED Light Fixtures and based off of your model # you will need the 120V pool version. I think you will be really happy with this light, I just put one in my father’s pool and it is really nice. The best part is that the bulb is replaceable so in the future, you can just replace the bulb.
