Pool Cleaner for pool with Shallow End

Any reccomendation for a pool cleaner that will work in a pool with a 72 square foot by 18" deep shallow end.  It is about 9’x 8’ with a sloping ramp on one end and stairs off the main section.   Had a Polaris P945 which I liked except it is way too pricey and after 2 1/2 years the motor block has failed.   This part is more expensive than many cleaners.

Am considering the Kreep Krauly Sand Shark or " The Pool Cleaner 2X but concerned the suction hose connection coming from the top will pull them over in the shallow end.

thanks

Hi Mark00,

I had the same Polaris cleaner and had the same issue with the motor, I liked the cleaner when it was working but I felt the motor failed way to quick. I tried a few suction cleaners on my pool and was never as happy with the performance as the robotic so I switched over to a Dolphin Maytronics Robotic Cleaner which I have had for 4 years with no motor issues. We do have the Dolphin Quest Robotic Cleaner on sale for $599, it is still more expensive than the suction cleaners but it is starting to get somewhat close to the price range.

If you do decide to go with suction then we have had the best success with The Pool Cleaner Suction Side Cleaners.

Thank You

Patrick,  thank you for the reply and info.    Appreciate the recomendation.   Of course I decided to research the Maytronics units and I probably should not have.     Cannot even find this unit on the Maytronics Web site.   But they make a whole range of different units.

Would like to compare with Nautilus.   Only 100 more.   Loses the bag and has cartridge.  Been around longer, I think.   Am I missing anything else.

Appreciate the advice and help.

Hi Mark00,

The Dolphin Quest and the Dolphin Nautilus are the exact same cleaner. The Quest is a private label meaning it is the exact cleaner as the Nautilus but with a different name on it. Dolphin does so many different private labels it gets confusing but I would go with the Quest based on the pricing.

Thank You

Patrick

Thanks for the clarification.   I read somewhere about private labeled pool cleaners vs. the manufacturer brand.    Still deciding which way to go.

thanks for the follow up.

Thanks Mark00 if you have any further questions please let me know. Happy 4th of July!
