Polaris pump leak

Hi! Last year I rebuilt my polaris booster pump with bearings and a new seal. The new seal has pretty much leaked from the jump. I followed the instructions and have done several bearings and seals in the past with success. I am wondering if there is a possibility it could be leaking around the plastic shroud that the seal sets in. The shaft does not seem to be scored in any way.

Thanks

Gary

Hi Gary,

The replacement of the shaft seal on the Polaris Booster pump is a little different than other pumps. I would take a look at this Step by Step Guide on How to Replace a Polaris Booster Pump Shaft Seal and make sure that you did the installation properly. You may want to purchase another Polaris Shaft Seal and try the project again. Please note there are a few different versions of the Polaris booster pump and each uses different seals. Could you pull the model # off of your pump (i.e. PB460, PB460Q, etc…) we would also need to know the approximate date of manufacturer of your pump (i.e. 1994-2011, 2011-2017, 2017 and newer)
