Old 2EZ motor and Super II

Hi. I have an old 2EZ pump motor with a Super II pump. The motor is DOA. The motor is an EB2977T with an electronic speed controller/timer. I have two questions:

  1. Is the Century STS1152R motor completely compatible? I believe it is, but would love a backup confirmation.

  2. The Century 1152R (and basically every replacement motor) does not come with the electronic speed controller. Is there anything I need to know to transplant the existing controller onto a new motor? I’m pretty handy, but the information on these things is so sparse that I wanted to know if anyone has ever successfully done this and what to expect. Are all the motors basically the same so I can do this?
