I need a pump just want to buy the right size pump want do you recommend?
Here are some specs.
Pool size 16x40
28,800 gallons/ 8 / 60=60gpm
1.5 hp Super pump
109 feet of pvc 103 feet of flex pvc 1line to pump, 1 1/2 inch diameter.
Hayward sand filter 24t
2 skimmers at deep end
2 eyeballs at shallow end
6 90deg elbows
1 tee by skimmers
1 90 by skimmers
But with vacuum gauge and pressure gauge this what I get
Pressure 10psi x 2.31 at pump = 23.1
Pressure at port valve 14.5psi x 2.31 = 33.495
Vacuum 22 hg x 1.13 = 24.86
58.335 feet of head with current set up
This is very helpful. With your set up I would suggest the PL2603 2 HP PureLine Prime or if you wanted to go variable speed you could go with the 2.7 HP PureLine Prime Variable Speed Pump. The nice thing about the variable speed pump is that it gives you the ability to really ramp up your pump for things like vacuuming but it also allows you to really dial down the hp for general pool filtration, when running at the lower HP you will see a huge reduction in your operational costs, up to 70% over a single speed.
