Hello, my pump to my pool stopped working at the end of last Summer. I purchased a used pump online off marketplace. The pump has been working good for the past 3 months;however, it doesn’t have an on and off button or switch therefore I must unplug it to turn it off and plug it in to turn it on. 5 days ago, the pump was running and I unplugged it, to run it through the backwash cycle, and when I plugged it back in it doesn’t come back on. No hum, no buzz, no grinding no nothing. With a tester I checked and power is running through the cord into the motor. Also It is NOT the breaker, it is NOT the outlet, and it is NOT the capacitor. I have one of those “NOT Common” pumps that do NOT have a compasitor. There is literally nothing online about these pumps. It is a:
Gruber Hydro Duraflo 001438
V: 115
HP: 3/4
RPM: 3450
The Motor says Franklin Electric
I will include.
Is there anything I can check/troubleshoot that may be the issue. I briefly saw something about a switch inside motor and the windings of the motor. Is there anything I can do or should I get a new pump.Thank you in advance for any advice.
The motor might be dead. I’m not sure about the Franklin motors but we have a guide on testing the windings. Inspect the connections and other parts - we do have some of them available here, though please verify that they will fit your motor if you think you need anything.
