Water drips from between body and lid of multiport rotary valve. 6 spoke gasket and quad “o” ring have been replaced, bolts tightened.
There may be a couple of hairline cracks in the body.
When the valve lid was removed, there was d.e. in 2 of the 6 compartments. At start of backwash, d.e. and dark stuff shot out of return lines. Separation tank received NO d.e. from filter tank. Pressure returned to 15 from 10 lb. as system filtered debris and that “stuff/powder” needs to vacuumed up.
You list no replacement for my 7"wide body for MFG #51002 OR 51003. If it is the body that is causing the leak between body and lid, what are my options/solution?
Can you send us a link to the parts diagram you were referencing? Also, could you post a few pictures of your valve and filter as this would help us better troubleshoot your issue?
Are there any part #'s or model names you can pull off of the filter, many times this is located on the filter tank itself. Or any #'s that you can see on the valve?
Patrick, I’m looking at paperwork, parts lists and numbers from 1981, the installation year of the pool and equipment. The MPRV has been replaced once by a Pentair Products Americana lid. There are no identifying numbers on either the original lid or the current one. My paperwork, which is the same as the page below and sent as you asked, has Model #501501 and a “Top Assembly (lid, handle, rotor, key 21 item #4659, mfg #51001”. What I may need is the top assembly., but if it obsolete what do I do?
Patrick, you have been such a help and again I will say I’m so glad to have found the inyopool site. As soon as It is dertermined if I need only the top assembly (51000111) for model 501501 or the Hi Flow valve 261049, I will in touch. Thank you. Carol
I would need to know the make and model information of your filter you are looking to replace the multiport valve on first in order to determine what is the suitable replacement. Generally speaking, though, it is not common to replace one manufacturer with another. That said if you could provide the requested information, I will be more than happy to assist you in finding a suitable replacement.
