Motor won't shut off

Just replaced motor and when I switched breaker on the pump started running even though timer switch was off. So pump won’t shut off unless I turn off breaker. What should I check?

So I have this correct, when you turn the timer off the pump still runs? If you could clarify that would help us make the proper diagnosis.

yes - thats it.  I have to turn the main breakers on or off.  The other timer switch for the Polaris is working, its just the main pump motor switch.  i am guessing I need to repalce that switch

Yes it is most like that the timer switch needs to be replaced. If this is a standard yellow dial Intermatic timer and the pump is being wired 240V then you would need this Intermatic T104M Replacement Timer Mechanism.
