Matching a filter to an existing pump

Hello, I have a Hayward SP1580 1hp pump. I currently have an old Doughboy sand filter. * am looking for a new cartridge filter. I see setups with the filter and pump on a common plaform with quick disconnects. Is there a specific Hayward cartridge filter that I can buy with a platform and fittings that would work with my pump if I rotate the outlet. In other words, I would like to buy the filter/pump platform kit without the pump. Is this possible?

Hello David - Your pump would fit the EC1161PAK base. The Hayward C500 cartridge filter would fit that base and match up with your SP1580.

Once you rotate the discharge, the pump and filter can be connected by part number SP1480BLK.
