Looking for recommendation for new Variable speed Pool pump

Good Morning,

I am hoping that someone can help me with some recommendations for a new pool pump.  I am replacing my Hayward Super II pump that is 12 years old, it is a 2hp system and I am not sure I need a 2 hp system?  My pool is 10000 gal with an attached spa.  My GPM is 21 and my feet to head is between 35-40ft (not 100% sure the exact number as I did not install the pool).  I would like something that is energy efficent and will save me the most on my operating cost.  My current pump is 230v so I need a 230v system.  I would like to keep the price under 1000.00

Hi Scott,

My suggestion would be the Speck Badu EcoMV 2.4 HP Variable Speed Pump which is currently on sale. The reason I suggest the larger HP is because of your spa jets, the spa jets do take a lot of HP also since this is a variable speed pump then for your normal filter use you can run at a much lower HP like .5 HP. The higher HP just gives you the flexibility to use it for spa jets or any other demanding situations that come up.

Do you know if the control box can be moved off the unit and mounted on a wall?  If not do you know if there are any that can be.  Scott

I don’t believe this controller on the Speck 2.4 VSP is removable but I have reached out to our rep. at Speck to find out. I will be back in touch as soon as I have confirmation.
