I just bought a house that has an older Aqua Pure 700 System. The salt cell was replaced 6 months ago before I moved in. The system ran fine but the pool man kept adding salt for some reason and got the pool up to 4600PPM.
Chlorine production went down this week and the service light came on. A code for cleaning came up so I got rid of the pool guy then cleaned a golf ball size of Calcium or salt from the cell. A new code then indicated too high of salt. I drained the pool and got the salt where it should be at 3200PPM.
Now the cell works for a while on start up then the cell hangs in the cell reverse mode. I get codes 120 and 121 at different times which are saying low current at the cell. The voltage is 35 volts at the cell under load. I think this means the cell is not drawing power so the voltage stays high?
My best guess is the cell was damaged by the high salt and I need a new cell. I checked a lot of voltages on the front and back board and they all matched what was suggested except for the transformer output to the cell which was 35 volts.
Buy a new cell? Perform some type of test on the cell to confirm? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim
