I replaced a t104m timer, but the timer only runs when I manually turn the pump on. I
Thought that I replaced the wires in the same position that they were originally connected, any ideas to fix this problem?

We put together a Step By Step Guide on How to Replace a T104M Timer I would review that guide and make sure your wires are hooked up properly (as shown in the guide). Let us know if that fixes your issue, if not then could you post a few photos showing how you have the timer wired up.

The two hot lines coming from the breaker panel would be connected to terminals 1 & 3. The two load lines from the pump should be connected to terminals 2 & 4.
Do you have the small metal trippers installed on the yellow dial? One should say off and the other should say on.
