Hyaward pool pump

Hello

I have a 2010 Hayward pump Model #S48E48!04 with HP - 40GPM. No basket reservoir. This motor is still pretty quite. I am having a very difficult time keeping this motor primed.  It is used in a water feature and sits about 12" to 18" above the water pool line.  There’s about 75-100 Gallons of water total.  I have a Jandy 7235 check valve about 12" in front of the intake side of this pump.  Never enough water stored to prime pump.  I am looking to replace this pump with a Hayward SP1775 self priming unit.  I believe its a 3/4HP unit. What are your thoughts on this unit.  Does it match the GPM on my existing unit?  Is a self priming pump the way to go?  Is the SP1775 quite?  Let me know your thoughts.  Do you have this pump in stock?

Thanks

Don

Hi Don,

I do think the SP1775 Power Flo II Pump is the way to go as it is self priming, this is a quiet pump and is more powerful than your current pump. Could you post a few photos of your plumbing so we can double check that there is nothing else going on within the plumbing?

Thank You

Patrick
