my pool is already quite clear. I can see the pool tiles through the pool water. But te water is not blue colour. Is there any chemical which can make the pool water look blue ?
Hello Lilyliang - There is blue pool dye called Party Pool. Unfortunately, that is only a temporary option. You may have other issues that are preventing it from looking blue.
Assuming the water is balanced and the tinge is not algae, you may have metals in the water. The discoloration is most likely copper or iron. Do you have a pool heater? Have you used well water to fill the pool?
The pool’s ph is very high and I am going to buy some ph decreaser. Also high in alkalinity. But these two factors shouldn’t be the reason preventing the pool becoming blue, right ? Isn’t copper going to make the pool look blue ? I bought a tablet which contain copper sulphate and some kind of tri acid . I can’t remember the exact name. But still didn’t make the pool look blue. The water is bore water and can’t be drinked by animals. Is this good water ? I already used a product called ‘cloudout’. Do I need to buy algaecide?
Sorry I mean the bore water CAN be drunken by animals.
The bore water seems to be the issue. Bore water contains high levels of alkalinity, iron, and manganese, to name a few. You had mentioned that the water didn’t look blue. The reason most pools look blue is because of the surface. Most surfaces have blue specs. Your pool surface looks like it has been stained by metals and that may be preventing the blue look.
We would recommend trying a product called Extra Strength Stain Free by Natural Chemistry. This is a concentrated ascorbic acid and it’s great for pools filled with bore/well water. Once the stains are removed you can use their Metal Free to prevent further stains.
In the future, you’ll want to use a fill hose filter when you introduce bore water to the pool. Something like the Hayward Bobby is a great option.
