When we bought our house we inherited a 6000 gallon in ground pool that operates with an above ground filter. It was literally dug by a teenager whose dad told him to dig it himself. He did; no liner, pool is painted concrete. We don’t get enough sun to keep it warm. Any suggestions on a heater that will extend the season and given its size, possibly even make it accessible as a hot tub?! It’s a very quaint pool, but we’d like to expand its use, especially since it’s so small.
Hi Julie,Would it be possible for you to post a few pictures of your pool so we know what we’re working with? Thank you Patrck
Hi Julie,
A few additional questions
- Do you have a preference on using Propane, Natural Gas or Electric?
- What is the length and width of the pool?
- What part of the country do you live in?
- Would you want to use the pool/spa year round?
I will wait for your reply.
Thank You
Patrick
Hi Patrick, sorry for delayed response. We live in western NY and are wondering if we could use the pool 3 seasons instead of one. Curious if we could just warm it up a little for longer pool usage, but have option to heat it up more possiblly to use as a spa, also. There is an electric hook up nearby for the filter, so likely electric. Unless much cheaper alternative…?Am going to try to figure out how to attach photos!
I can’t figure out how to post pictures! Help?!
Also, the dimensions are 19 feet by 8 feet, with depth being 4 1/2 feet. Ny state.
