Help picking the right pump and filter

Hi,

I was hoping I could get a recommendation for replacing my pump and filter.

I currently have an old 3/4hp single speed Pentair superflow 186236 (110V) with 1 1/2 piping and an ancient swimquip sand filter.

My pool is 17,000 gallons. I not aware exactly of how much piping is underneat the ground, but the skimmer basket is only 8ft or so from the pump.

I want to increase the size of my pump and go variable speed so I can get a kreepy krauly, improve the suction for vacuuming, and reduce running cost as much as possible with the upgrade.

What would you recommend for a replacement pump and filter?
