I recently purchased the Hayward Swim Pure Plus salt chlorinator to change to a salt water system.
The pump I have is a Hayward VS super pump 700 with timer.
Any ideas on how to connect the timer on my pump to the salt water chlorinator? I see how a stand alone timer would hook into the system but the built in timer on the pump is what’s confusing me.
Thanks,
SP
Hello SP - It doesn’t appear that the Super Pump VS has an AUX circuit available to control a salt system. You’d have to connect the pump and the salt system to an external timer.
Thanks InyoRob.
Since I run my pool pump 24/7 and let the VS pump do it’s thing, is there a recommended timer best compatible for my hook up? It sounds like I would just need a go between for power since I run my pump continuously.
Also, could I just run seperate power from the breaker box into the Hayward salt chlorinator and eliminate the need for the timer or should it remain on 1 line?

If you run the pump 24/7, you could run power from the breaker directly to the salt system.
You could use a simple mechanical timer to control the salt system. We’d recommend an Intermatic T100 series; T104 for 230v or T101 for 115v.
Would you recommend purchasing the Hayward goldline Aqua plus all in one chlorinator to avoid all the above issues? It looks like it might have a timer built into it and several more functions. If not I will just stick with the one I bought and buy the recommended timer you mentioned.
The AquaPlus would be another good option. It would solve your current issues.
