Hayward Transformer Resistance

According to the AquaRite tech manual, the resistance of the transformer should be between 2.1 and 2.9 ohms. Mine is reading at over 5 ohms. Would this cause power issues?

Are you having issues with the LEDs or LCD display and are you measuring the resistance between the
Blue & White wires and the Violet & Gray wires (and did you unplug them so they are isolated from everything else)?
If the readings of either of the two measurements are not
2.0 – 2.9 Ohms, the transformer is faulty and should be replaced.

Check out the AquaRite Diagnostics Manual for other things to check.

Thanks, actually two issues. I bought a replacement board from you back in '22 as a backup. The board in the unit exhibited some odd behavior, and the LCD had strange things going on, along with the lights all lighting up. Then, just the power light started blinking. I put the new board in that I bought from you in '22, and it did not power up at all. I tried both the new LCD PCB and the old one. Both did the same thing. I put the old main PCB in, and it powered up, but I got the same odd behavior from the LCD board. It seems to “new” board is DOA.

We are sorry to hear that. Is the unit working at all?
